BRIEF ITINERY OF THE BIG DAY

IN BRIEF

Saturday 14th June is fast approaching now. 


To help you here are some facts:
The showground opens at 10am (Car Parks open from 7.30am). 


Live Music will start at 10.30am - 11.30am with The Radio Days Big Band, 12.00pm - 12.45pm is Horizon, 1.15pm - 2.15pm Karen & Duncan Wymbs (Travelin Light), 2.45pm - 3.30pm Horizon.


We plan to have three Classic vehicle parades down both the runway and crowdlines involving the Abingdon MG Car Works Centre, Jensen Owners Club and South Coast Cop Cars - all mid morning to lunchtime (exact timings are being finalised).


If you wish to see the rare formation of four RAF Chinook helicopters on their way out to meet up with the Kings Birthday flypast, thats just before midday.


The afternoon Air Displays start from just after 1.30pm which contains the Avro Lancaster (involved in Kings flypast), Gazelle helicopter pair, Harvard, Jubilee Pitts, Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress and RAF Tutor with the RAF Falcons Parachute Display team dropping in and a couple of other aircraft involved in the Kings Birthday Flypast namely the RAF Boeing C-17A Globemaster & Airbus A400M Atlas for a flypast - with the C-17A potentially landing for a couple of hours and open to the public.


Theres over 85 stalls of variation to browse both outside and in the Crafts Marquee, one large Steam Roller & a couple of small Steam Engines, Dog Show & Huskies, a collection of Gliders on static, Re-enactors, a selection of Childrens amusements, Simulators, a large area of Classic Vehicles, Hot & Cold food and much more (details within this website).


PLEASE NOTE: You need to purchase a ticket online for entry so book your tickets now without delay.


PLEASE NOTE: Public vehicle entry gate on Barrow Road (a map of this gate is on your ticket) will close at 1.30pm until approx 4.15pm for air safety reasons so you all need to be inside the airfield well before then otherwise you won't get in.


People wishing to leave earlier than the 4.30pm end time can by exiting through another gate at the north end - however after 4.30pm the main Barrow Road gate will re-open to allow exiting.


The Pedestrian gate located on Faringdon Road (Married Quarters side) will be open from 9.30am and open all day.
